As part of wider expansion and renovation work to the existing hotel, the raised swimming pool stands as “an erratic mass straddling the old and the new”. Suspended between the sky and the ground, it looks out over the valley below, like some swimming viewpoint. The “total” ceramic covering of the pool underlines its monolithic character, defining the outline of the suspended part, which is held up by two pillars or trunks: a small mountain lake translated into architecture. Inside, there is a varied selection of ceramic products, in different finishes, formats and colours, which help to bring definition to the spaces, which come across as stages in a sequence.
