This issue of Percorsi in Ceramica is dedicated to Casalgrande Padana’s new collections, including The City Collection by KPF (Kohn Pedersen Fox, the world-renowned architectural firm established in 1976 with offices in the world’s biggest cities), in collaboration with Milan-based SBGA Blengini Ghirardelli. We are proud to provide the architecture world with this new series of porcelain stoneware tiles inspired by New York, London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, the four cities where KPF has built large-scale projects.
As a result, these tiles reflect these cities’ architectural and urban character in their patterns and three-dimensional textures. We’ll open issue 46 of Percorsi in Ceramica by talking about small-scale projects that are just as valuable and inspiring as large-scale ones. These projects include the interior flooring of a posh condo in France, an intimate theatre dressing room, and a bar in a sports centre, all of which demonstrate how Casalgrande Padana’s tile collections meet any architectural need, adding a unique colour and textural touch even to smaller projects.
Then, we’ll introduce Casalgrande Padana’s other new collections, i.e., Stile, Terrazzotech, Timeless, Fusion, and Supreme. Stile stands out for its sophisticated finishes replicating stone’s charm and beauty. Terrazzotech features excellent mechanical properties, giving a contemporary twist to Venetian Terrazzo tiles. The Timeless collection is the ultimate embodiment of full-body porcelain stoneware, the ageless material that has made Casalgrande Padana’s history. The new Fusion collection replicates the effects of metal oxidation, chrome plating, and other processes, creating stunning colours and finishes. Finally, the Supreme collection draws inspiration from rock salt crystallisation, replicating its colours, texture, and shine
